What Fills My Cup

Creativity is one of my superpowers! I have been making art through ceramics since high school, and it is my favorite medium. But I enjoy dabbling in painting, graphic design, drawing, and most recently embroidery.

I recently learned a new term: nature deficiency syndrome. Whoo, that resonates with me! As soon as I get under the boughs of ancient trees, see a beautiful landscape, or let the ocean waves lap against my legs, my whole body relaxes, and my soul breathes more freely.

I have been lucky enough to travel far and wide, domestically and internationally. I get so inspired by experiencing cultures other than my own! It opens my worldview and recalibrates my sense of possibility.

Close friends, being of service, my self-belief, and my family provide the foundations I need to go out and do hard things. These anchors allow me to unapologetically unfurl my sails.

Meet Candice Heidebrecht

I'm an Organizational Anthropologist and Certified Emotional Intelligence Coach with a Master's Degree in Applied Anthropology. I spent the first 20 years of my career leading organizations in the healthcare, academia, and technology industries — and I've watched AI reshape every single one of them.

I’ve seen firsthand how dysfunction and toxic workplace cultures negatively impact both the bottom line and the people who manage them.

Workplace culture is constantly being unconsciously co-created by all its members. So while we often blame the leaders for a dysfunctional culture, and they are ultimately responsible, leaders are not the actual owners. Everyone owns culture.

Managers and mid-level leaders are falling through the cracks — and the Age of AI is making it worse. They're expected to keep up with constant change while managing burned-out teams, with little to no support, mentorship, or leadership tools. I created Cultivate Empathy to fill these gaps.

I can support You.

I believe that solving discontent, burnout, and change fatigue — especially in the Age of AI — requires identifying the root cause and changing what has been normalized. Here's how I can help:

Coaching. The patterns you developed to make you successful are no longer serving you. We will work together to unwind the tangle that got you here, and you will feel validated, empowered, and generally more peaceful.

Consulting. Team dysfunction often results from a dysfunctional culture. Every group of humans, no matter how small, will create unspoken, unwritten rules that define “normal” behavior. These rules play out at every level and in every action within that team. We will work together to identify the root cause of the dysfunction by pinpointing the rule(s) unintentionally sowing disease within your team. With these findings, we will build a custom toolset for communication and corrective actions to transform your team culture.

Workshops and Classes. Get started immediately, implement practices, and have reference materials to revisit. I offer workshops (in-person or virtual) and online courses to leaders who are looking for quick wins.
